PCA Taper Cap Pen

The Pen Collectors of America (PCA) worked with the Bexley Pen Company in Columbus, OH to create this unique pen. It is a fund raiser for the PCA in a Limited Edition of 188 pens. I like the blend of old and new in the design. The size, shape and woodgrain hard rubber are typical of taper cap pens from the early 1900's. It is engineered to be filled with the supplied eyedropper, or with modern cartridges or converter. It has a clip so that you can carry it comfortably in your pocket, or remove it for a vintage look. 'Gold mounted' bands were typical in that era, as was the cable twist pattern of these bands. Bexley has great smooth 18K nibs, so specify whether you want a Fine, Medium, Broad, or Broad Stub nib. The one I bought is a Broad Stub, and a very good writer.

A handful of vintage pen sellers, who are also PCA members, are donating their services to help sell the pen. The price is $325, plus $10 for priority shipping. Make your check for $335 payable directly to the PCA, as I want the PCA to get 100% of the proceeds.

Diamond Point 4 Colors to Choose From. 1953. Here is a unique opportunity to own some history. These pens are from the collection of the owner of Diamond Point Pen Co. His family started Diamond Point in the late teens. They ceased pen production in the early 50s. The pens are New Old Stock unsold from his last large order in 1953. The order was for a Scandinavian country. This explains the use of Flexible Medium 14kt. Gold nibs in all the pens. As you can see they are very pretty striped celluloid, although these pens are not the same quality of the early Diamond Point Pens. The clips, cap bands and levers are gold plated as was common in that time. GPT, LF. Pens are 5&1/2 inches long capped. $45 each or $160 for a set of four.
